Description
Polar Pals is a free event that is part of the Stafford Schools Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair. The Polar Pals Fun Run and 5K will include a 1/2 mile and a 1 mile for kids and 5K for kids and adults. The purpose of the race is to encourage a fun and healthy outdoor event during the chillier months, followed by an opportunity for hot chocolate, and indoor activities and resources offered by school division departments and community partners.

Awards
All 1/2 mile and 1 mile runners will receive a swag bag of goodies. The school with the overall most runners will earn a photo shoot at their school and be awarded the giant Polar Pal stuffed bear to display at their school for the year.
For the 5K, prizes will be awarded for the fastest time overall for male and female runners, as well as for the following age groups:
Fastest male and female under 10, 11-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
Course Information
All races will begin and end at the front of the school The 1/2 mile and 1 mile courses will be one or two laps around the school, respectively. The 5K course will run through Colonial Forge neighborhood and behind the high school athletic fields. Maps are available upon request.
