Why Should You STAND UP to Colorectal Cancer?
Colorectal Cancer is the 2nd most common cause of cancer-related death in the United States for men and women combined. In 2024, an estimated 106,500 people were diagnosed with colon cancer and 46,200 people were diagnosed with rectal cancer. It's expected to cause around 53,010 deaths. *It's estimated that 3,750 of those deaths will be in people < 50 years old.
Hampton Roads is one of the 3 National "hot spots" for colon cancer incidence and mortality. Other hot spots include Appalachia and the Lower Mississippi Delta.
