Course Marshal volunteers stand along race course, offering encouragement to runners/walkers, keep children within the traffic cones, and safe on course.

Playmakers Running Buddies

Details

There are 7 one-mile race heats (one every 15 minutes) starting at 9:00 am and going through 10:45 am. Running buddies of all speeds are needed to run with the kids to help keep them safe on the course and ensure they don’t get lost. You can run all of the heats if you wish or just a couple. We would ask that several stay to the back and make sure some of the kids that might be struggling make it safely across the finish line. Running buddies should wear their red Team Playmakers shirts to help kids and parents recognize them, but are welcome to take a race volunteer t-shirt home.

Location

Meet in front of the Volunteer tent at 8:15 am. Running Buddies run alongisde the children on the race course to help keep them safe and encourage them along the way.

Parent/Child Reunite

Parent/Child Reunite volunteers help to reunite participants with their parents after their race.

Location

Parent Child Reunite area will be located at the East end of the Stadium and will be marked with banners and balloons and sectioned off with bicycle racks.

Race Tattoos, Inflatables, and Miscellaneous

This group of teen/young adult volunteers assist with applying temporary race tattoos, helping with the inflatables, and filling in as needed on race day.

Refreshment volunteers are needed to unpackage and distribute waters to participants after they finish the race.

Location

Tables are set up along the EAST side of the stadium. Runners / walkers come up the adjacent stairs after finishing, and will pass along the tables on their way out.
