These amazing folks will help the Volunteer Coordinator & volunteers by communicating with the Volunteer Coordinator before the day of the event to learn event day needs. On the day of the event, these coordinators will greet volunteers and help volunteers understand their assignments.

Co-Coordinators will assist from 3:45pm-8pm on the day of the event.

Awareness/ Garden & Entertainment

Garden/Booth Set-Up High Priority

Volunteers will assist with setting up tables, decorations, and any other needed equipment for visiting mental health organizations' awareness/information booths.

Garden Greeting/Booth Support

Details

Volunteers will greet participants and community members in the UBC Memorial Garden where the awareness booths will be set up. Volunteers will also support awareness team leaders and awareness booths with any needs that may come up.

Garden Clean-Up High Priority

Volunteers will assist with taking down tables and decorations once awareness/information booths close.

Volunteers would assist with picking up food donations from a local restaurant on the evening/night of the event, October 26. Volunteers would be assigned (or could select) a shift/restaurant, as well as a partner if needed, closer to the night of the Run/Walk.

Outside Fueling Station Attendant High Priority

Volunteers would provide water, gatorade, snacks, etc. to participants on the route outside. Volunteers will work in teams of 2.

Indoor Rest Area Food Station

Details

Volunteers would monitor indoor food area, dispose of empty containers/trash as needed, replenish napkins & utensils, etc. Volunteers after 8pm will also monitor the outdoor fueling station to ensure cups and the water & gatorade containers are stocked.

*Just a note, the later evening/early morning shifts are very needed but not very busy. But! When you're not working, these shifts are still great times to hang out with each other and enjoy the entertainment inside the rest area.
