Details
Your job will be to sweep behind the 50-Mile racers from the Rock Creek Aid Station through to Chikamin Aid Station, 19 miles. (You will get a ride from the start to Rock Creek.) You will take down all course markings, clean up the trails as needed and make sure that all racers are ahead of you. Previous longer distance trail experience and physical ability to complete the 20 miles is required.
You will be carrying a Garmin InReach for emergency communication.
This segment of sweeping means that you'll finish at a distant aid station. We will coordinate with the next set of sweepers or the aid station to determine your transport back from the end of the sweep. One transport option may include your vehicle being driven to your aid pickup by the next set of sweepers, if this is something you're okay with.
This segment can be combined with another segment if you'd like to do a longer distance and feel confident that you can complete multiple segments. If so, feel free to sign up for multiple segments on this page. We will then contact you to confirm.
This sweep can also be done on a mountain bike if you are a capable mountain biker and prefer using this method of travel.
