Monitor Half Marathon Competitive Walk race participants to make sure they follow specific event rules. Training and additional information will be provided. This is an active volunteer position. You must own a bike, preferably an electric bike and must be comfortable riding alongside race participants for 13.1 miles while you monitor their performance.

Details

You will be positioned in the Start Line Corral Area and will control access to the corrals by making sure that each participant who enters the corral has a valid bib number.

You will help keep participants safe by not permitting the following to enter the start area: individuals without proper bib numbers, baby joggers/strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles and dogs. Other responsibilities include holding the Corral A/B/C sign up for participants and taking the ropes down at the front of each corral before the start. In addition, you will assist after the race start with water station start line breakdown and cleanup.

One of the most fun jobs of the night! You get to cheer on all of our runners on the field and help keep them safe while running the various courses. Keeping spirits high and helping the participants feel celebrated and on track to reach the finish line. You'll watch for minor issues and alert medical if needed. Bring your cheer gear - cowbells, pom poms, foam fingers - whatever will help keep the energy high throughout the night.

Help clean up after the event.

Volunteers needed to help out with a variety of tasks at the 5k/10k. Begin the morning at the Start Line, and assist in holding start line pace signs, and directing participants as needed. Once the race begins, move to the finish line and distribute medals to participants as they cross the finish line. Help clean up after.
