COV Run for the Kids

Tie up your shoe laces...and Run or Walk in our COV 2nd annual Run for the Kids Race! This year we are holding a hybrid model run/walk. We will be kicking off the first day of the event in person at the Skagit Airport on Nov. 27th (weather permitting). You have the option of joining us at the Port of Skagit nature trails from 9:00am-11:00am to complete your run/walk on our designated course or doing it anywhere at any time until Dec. 5th. 

At the live event, you will run or walk the designated course and time yourself, we will be there to cheer you on with refreshments at the finish line. The in-person event is dependent on the weather and you will be notified a few days before  if we are needing to cancel the event. Due to it being, hybrid you still have the option to complete the run/walk virtually at any time from anywhere. With the virtual option you have from Nov. 27- Dec. 5th to complete your run/walk and input your time. 

Help us raise money to help Children of the Valley, an organization that is providing after school support to children within our community expand to other communities! COV provides a safe, supportive environment for elementary students most in need in order to receive daily academic and personal support, mentorship, and daily fun enrichment activities.

Right now we have one site open serving over 50 students. We are so excited to be in the process of opening two new classrooms at the current site. We have a large expansion coming this year which includes opening two new sites in Mount Vernon, a new site in Sedro-Woolley and another site in Burlington. Opening these additional sites we will be able to reach more students in our communities that need the extra academic and emotional support, everyday after school.

Register, donate and share our event on Facebook at Children of the Valley. Don’t forget to share your pictures on your race day between Nov. 27th- Dec. 5th using the hashtags #CovRunforKids. 

Everyone who registers for a race will be submitted into a raffle for cool prizes from our local businesses!
