Registration Options

Full Series

Register once for the Wisconsin Trail Assail Series and join us all season.

Register for the distance you plan to run. You are not locked into that distance for the entire series and may switch between the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon at any time for free.

Series registrations are non-deferrable.

Individual Races

Not ready to commit to the entire series? Click any race name in the schedule above to register for that event individually.

Kiddo's 1K

Kiddo's 1K races are free. Children should be registered through the individual race page for the event they plan to attend.

Rucking is welcome at WTA events. Learn more about rucking.

WTA All Access Pass

Want to skip packet pickup and head straight to the start line?

Select the All Access No Shirt option when registering for the series. You'll receive a reusable ankle strap with your timing chip. Bring it to each WTA race and there's no race-day check-in or packet pickup required.

The All Access option does not include race shirts.

Your All Access Pass and timing strap are assigned specifically to you and are non-transferable. Sharing your pass or timing strap may result in the loss of All Access privileges.

WTA Series Scoring & Standings

View 2026 Series & Team Standings

Scoring

Points are awarded based on age group placement:

  • 1st place = 10 points
  • 2nd place = 9 points
  • 3rd place = 8 points
  • Points continue through 10th place = 1 point
  • Every finisher receives at least 1 point

Series Award Eligibility

  • Complete at least 4 of the 6 WTA races to qualify for series awards.
  • You may switch between distances at any time for free.
  • You must complete at least 4 races at the same distance to qualify for that distance's series awards.

Series Awards

  • Series Age Group Woodles are awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in 5-year age groups.
  • WTA Team Challenge Award

WTA Running Team Challenge

Run local. Buy local. Compete together.

The WTA Running Team Challenge is a free and competitive way to support local running stores, running clubs, training groups, businesses, and teams. Grab some friends, build a team, and compete throughout the Wisconsin Trail Assail Series.

How Team Scoring Works

  • Teams must have at least 4 runners to score.
  • There is no limit to the number of runners on a team.
  • The team's best 4 age group placements score at each race.
  • Scoring is cross-country style: 1st place = 1 point, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 3 points, and so on.
  • The lowest team score wins.
  • Team members cannot be added after a race to change previously calculated results.
  • Teams must compete in at least 4 of the 6 WTA races to qualify for the series Team Challenge Award.

Team Challenge Award

The series-winning team receives four free entries into the next Wisconsin Trail Assail Series, a team trophy, and year-long bragging rights.

Team shirts or singlets are encouraged but not required. This challenge isn't just for elite runners—teams of all abilities are welcome.

Not on a team? Join #TeamSCSE. It's free and open to all abilities.

Trail to 13.1

You don't have to start the Wisconsin Trail Assail Series ready to run a Half Marathon.

Trail to 13.1 is an optional progression for newer runners and walkers who want to start with the 5K and gradually build their distance throughout the season.

Run from the Taxman5K
Mother's Day5K
Father's Day10K
National Watermelon Day10K
Procrastination Day10K or Half Marathon
Sweetest DayHalf Marathon

This is a suggested progression, not a requirement. Register for the distance you plan to complete and adjust your distance anytime for free.

Start where you are. Build throughout the season. Finish with 13.1.

Race Day Experience

Fresh Fruit Bar

Finish your race and refuel at the WTA Fresh Fruit Bar.

Our post-race finish area includes:

  • Fresh fruit
  • Pickle juice
  • Lemonade
  • Iced tea
  • Cucumber water

Grab something cold, refuel, hang out, and cheer on the runners still coming down the trail.

Wisconsin Trail Assail Fresh Fruit Bar

This is a Cupless Series

As runners, we want to protect the places where we run. Using and throwing away more than 100,000 disposable cups each year doesn't make much sense, so we've eliminated cups from our aid stations.

The aid stations aren't going anywhere. Water and sports drinks will still be available. Just bring your own reusable cup, bottle, hydration pack, or other hydration gear.

You can also use our bag drop areas for nutrition and hydration supplies.

Enjoy the trails. Stay hydrated. Leave the disposable cups behind.

Park Entrance & Parking

Waukesha County and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources charge entrance fees at applicable parks. Annual and daily passes are available. Check each individual race page for park-specific information.

Waukesha County park passes must be purchased online.

Parking is limited at many of our parks. Follow park staff directions for overflow parking and give yourself plenty of time. If you're fashionably late, you're still late. Be early!
