Get Your Running/Walking Shoes--and Costume-- Ready for Carson!

Since its founding in 1969, Carson has always been as much about promoting fun as fitness. That is why we introduced a Halloween costume contest in 2010--the same year that the ITC began partnering with the Chippewa Valley Museum in Carson Park in putting on the event.

There are prizes for both top finishers and costume favorites...so start working on your training and costume ideas today!

Celebrate History, Make History!

In 1969, about 40 runners—all men—lined up for western Wisconsin’s first timed, organized run/walk event—the Carson 10.

Since then a 2-mile then 5K have been added. Women, kids (and sometimes dogs) have joined the fun in all distances, including a kid's Halloween BOO-gie Run that was added in 2010!

It’s only fitting that such a historic event has the Chippewa Valley Museum as its partner!

Join us this year in celebrating Carson’s and the ITC’s long history of promoting fitness and fun in the Chippewa Valley and beyond!
