Log your miles, make a difference! Honoring K9 Heroes our furry friends in uniform risk their lives daily. These police dogs are often the first responders on dangerous scenes, and their protective vests are sometimes the only thing standing between them and harm until their human partners can help. Tragically, 26 K9 officers died in the line of duty in 2023 in the U.S., many of whom could be saved with proper protective gear.

This is where Wisconsin Vest-A-Dog steps in, providing life-saving bulletproof and stab-proof vests for K9s. By joining this challenge, you’re helping raise funds to protect K9s in Wisconsin, ensuring they have the gear they need when facing danger head-on.
Your Challenge, Your Way!
In this challenge, you can log 100 miles or 100 hours at your own pace—whether it's while walking your dog, running solo, riding a horse, or hiking with friends. With or without your four-legged companions, your participation makes a difference. Solo or with friends - every mile counts! By joining this challenge you are helping to not only raise funds for WI Vest a Dog, you are also helping raise awareness and who knows, you may spark a change in your community to help get vests for your local K9s. Sadly, K9s and their equiptment are often not funded by the police department and need our help.

Shield of Love Completion Awards
Completion awards for this challenge includes a medal, a sticker, an embroidered patch, magnet and dog tag. You also gain fitness for you and your challenge partner, if you are walking with someone or your pet or horse. You gain an amazing online social media community of people who share your love of nature and animals and who love to cheer one another on. And although I am not as fast as shipping as Amazon Prime, you can count on the fact that you can reach me, a live person to help with support and/or questions about this event.

Shipping in the USA is included in your signup fee. *Shipping overseas is not included and for overseas the participant will be invoiced for shipping before the awards are shipped. About WI Vest a Dog
Online statistics show that 26 brave K9s lost their lives in 2023
"Most were shot or stabbed by the suspects they were attempting to apprehend. K-9 police dogs are an important and necessary part of crime prevention. Every day they carry out their dangerous work to keep us safe. They deserve the same level of protection as their human partners. They deserve bullet proof & stab proof vests too!! Sadly, most law enforcement agencies and police departments do not have the funds to purchase body armor that can save the lives of their police dogs. The cost of each vest is around $1,000 – $1,400 depending on which vest best suits each dog.Wisconsin Vest-A-Dog is a non-profit organization endorsed by the Wisconsin Veterinary Association.
The goal of the VEST-A-DOG program is to provide a bullet & stab proof vest and First Aid Kit for every police dog in Wisconsin.
The vests are the only protection these K-9 officers have until their human partners arrive on the scene."
