One Walk, Big Strides for Autism

Its more than a walk,

it's autism awareness, respect, acceptance & empowerment!

Help raise funds to support local autism community

During the weeks of August 29 - September 13 we invite you, your family and friends to join us as we support each other on our autism journey and raise funds to support local families.

This year things may look a little different due to Covid19 but individuals and families affected by autism still need our support.

Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 to help us continue programming that enhances the lives of individuals with autism and their families.

The Autism Society of South Central Wisconsin is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of all affected by autism.  We do this by increasing public awareness about issues related to Autism, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan and providing support groups and social groups for individuals on the spectrum and their families. Make it a mini parade!

This year our Walk is going to be held in all ten counties we serve!

What? How? We are going virtual!

We are really excited about that because it means many more people can join us. You, your family, your team can walk wherever you feel comfortable…in your city, village or rural area.

We are encouraging you to make your walk a mini-parade by dressing up in costumes and sharing pictures or videos with us. Come up with a team theme, create signs, wear costumes and wave at people as you walk.

We will have virtual a kick-off  event on August 29 and a virtual closing ceremony event on Sunday, September 13 so you have two weeks to walk one mile, a half mile or whatever you choose.

Prizes for best costumes and top fundraisers!

Post your photos on social media and use the hashtag #onewalkbigstridesforautism for your chance to win!

There will be prizes for

  • Best team theme
  • Best overall costume
  • Best kid costume
  • Best animal costume
  • Best individual fundraiser
