5K Trail Run | 8K Trail Run | 2.25 Mile Walk

Presented by Wisconsin Lutheran College, this fall trail race brings the spirit of a classic cross country meet to runners of all levels. Set in beautiful Greenfield Park, the course features rolling terrain, grassy fields, and wooded paths — just like your favorite high school or college cross country course! Whether you're chasing a PR or looking for the thrill of a packed start line, this unique event offers a nostalgic, competitive, and community-driven experience for all running enthusiasts.

• Run for a cause - this event serves as a fundraiser and community outreach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College Cross Country team and a portion of the proceeds benefit a local charity!

Cross country is a team sport, and in this race, your squad can score big! Rally up your fastest four and see how you stack up. 

Teams are divided into four divisions in the 5K and 8K:

• White - 4-person, all female team
• Green - 4-person, all male team
• Black - 4-person, coed team
• Silver - 4-person team where all members are 40 years of age or older

Teams will be scored just like a traditional cross country meet. Points will be assigned to each runner based on their overall finish (i.e., 1st place receives one point, 2nd place receives two points, and so on). Teams with the lowest number of combined points in each division will be the winners.

The course begins on the southwest corner of Greenfield Park with a gradual incline toward the north. The course then winds back toward the start line on trails through a small line of trees. The course continues through the woods on rolling trails, with an open grassy stretch along the park's northeast corner. The final 1.2 miles is a near replica of the first, featuring plenty of open space for movement. Overall, the course is rolling with occasional rough footing in the woods.

Awards:

• Top overall male and female runners in the 5K and 8K

• Top two teams in each division in the 5K and 8K

DIRECTIONS
Exit I-894/Hwy 45 at Greenfield Avenue, go west for approximately 1.5 miles until 124th Street. Turn left (south) on 124th Street and proceed approximately 1 mile until Lincoln Avenue. Turn left on Lincoln, then turn immediately left onto the parkway. Parking is available in the lot on the left-hand side.
