As the era of our traditional January Annual Meeting in Helvetia has come to and end, our board has decided to embark on a new adventure and tradition. We will meet at Spruce Mountain South on Spruce Knob for two nights and three days of fun, fellowship, running, and club related meeting/s. Club members, please join us for this free club event, July 26-28, at our State's highest mountain.
Spruce Mountain South is a tract of private land that adjoins the Monongahela National Forest land just south of Spruce Knob. Many miles of excellent trail in the Spruce Knob Recreation Area are minutes away. The relatively undeveloped property is very suitable for tent camping. There is a pavilion, electricity, water, toilet and shower facilities.
Schedule of events (tentative):
Friday: Evening arrival and set-up camping. Club will supply pizza.
Saturday: Light breakfast items provided and coffee. Guided runs of various distances will be planned. Following the run, we will have a pot-luck lunch followed by our General Membership Meeting. This meeting will offer club members to give input and direction to WVMTR and to gain insight in to current positions and future goals. Dinner will be supplied by the club -- most likely hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.
Sunday: 9:00 am.: Board of Director Meeting. Light breakfast items provided and coffee. 11:00 am: Pack up and head home . . .
Directions will be emailed out to participants near the event date.
