Description
Welcome to the Meeks Mountain Muddy Mutt a West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners Event to benefit the Hurricane Police Department K9 Unit. Join us on Saturday, March 15th for the annual Meeks Mountain Muddy Mutt 15K Trail Race. All proceeds go to support the K9 unit of the Hurricane Police Department.
Race Details:
Packet pickup is from 7:30 - 8:45 am on Saturday, March 15th, at the Big Red Barn located at Hurricane City Park. All race participants can pick up their packets at that time. There will be signs directing you to the packet pickup as well as the start line.
Bathrooms are available in the park, and portable restrooms will be available at the Start/Finish.
The race will begin in the bowl. You will cross the train tracks, so beware and be careful.
Plan for an extra 15 minutes to walk to the packet pickup/start/finish line.
Water and sports drink aid stations are available on the course.
Awards:
Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female, as well as top male and female in each age group.
Safety and EMT will be on call for emergency situations.
Finish Line Swag
Every runner will get a long-sleeved performance shirt with the coveted Muddy Mutt logo on it as well as a finisher award for all who cross the finish line.
Run with your Mutt:
This event is dog friendly and dog participation is strongly encouraged.
We ask that you keep your dog on a leash while at the start/finish line and to start to race. There will be signage indicating the appropriate point on the trail that dogs can be taken off there leash. Please note you are responsible for your dog, as well as the safety of runners around you, if your dog does not like crowds or people then we kindly ask that you leave the dog at home.

Rules:
Please keep our trails clean and do not liter. If you take it on the trail, take it off the trail.
The trails are open to all users during the race, so beware of your surroundings and the hikers, runners, and mountain bikers that may come from ahead or behind of you. Please, no headphones.
Please be courteous and polite to all volunteers.
Dogs must remain on the leash while at the start finish line as well as the start of the race.
If you are running with your dog, you are responsible for your dog at all times and are responsible for cleaning up after your dog while on the trails.
