We are pleased to introduce the Chugwater K9 Classic. This dog-friendly event will feature a half marathon, 10K, and 5k. Nestled in the valley, the Chugwater K9 Classic starts on Iron Mountain Road and ends at Chugwater School. The elevation profile shows the course as downhill, but it will feel more flat than downhill. The first 5.2 miles of the half marathon course is hardpack/gravel road. The remaining 7.9 miles are asphalt. The 10k and 5k courses are all asphalt.
Please visit our website at www.wyrunning.com for the most up-to-date information!
All runners must ride the bus to the start line! Half marathon runners must board the buses between 5:00 am to 5:30 am for transport to the start line. 10K and 5K participants must board the bus between 7:00 am to 7:30 am. Please be on time. There are no exceptions to departure time. Iron Mountain Road will be closed to all traffic (excluding official race vehicles) until all runners have cleared the course. Your race bib is your bus pass.
There will be free parking for all participants in the CHED lots located on Main Street.
All buses will have a box near the front for bag check. Please ensure that the baggage ticket matching your bib number is affixed to your bag. Bags may be picked up at the finish line. Please no valuables or breakables. WY Running is not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items.
There will be four aid stations on the half marathon course, 2 aid stations on the 10k course, and 1 aid station on the 5k course. Aid stations are located at the following half-marathon mileage markers (approximate):
Aid Stations will be equipped with water, Gatorade, snacks, basic first aid kits, dog treats, dog hydration stations, porta-potties, and communication to finish.
Upon completion of the race, WY Running encourages all participants to partake in the festival. The festival will feature a 205' long mobile zip line, mobile ropes course, vendors, food trucks, and more.
The awards ceremony will take place in Staats Park at 9:30 am. Prizes will be awarded based on gun time, not chip time.
