Strides for Speech

Strides for Speech is a 5K and Fun Run perfect for the whole family! This accessible and inclusive race will be held at Joyner Park on smooth, paved courses. Both races are open to runners, walkers, wheelchair-users, and anyone else looking to get active. The goal of Strides for Speech is to support Triangle Aphasia Project's community programming for people with aphasia while providing a space for people with all abilities to get moving. 

Schedule of race day: 

10:30 - Registration and Bib Pick Up 

11:30 - Fun Run Start 

12:00 - 5K Start

12:00 - 1:30 - Complimentary BBQ Sliders and Iced Tea provided by Smith's Smokehouse and Smoothies while supplies last

1:15 - Awards

Triangle Aphasia Project Unlimited (TAP) is a non-profit dedicated to supporting individuals with aphasia and their families across North Carolina. Our specialized group programs align with various interests and passions, fostering an environment where individuals with aphasia are inspired to enhance their communication skills and participate confidently within their communities. 5K: Registration will include TAP merch, with the option to add this year's Strides for Speech t-shirt.

o August 1 – Race Day: $30

Virtual 5K: Registration will include TAP merch, with the option to add this year's Strides for Speech t-shirt. Shipping cost is included in registration.
