Why You Should Run

Cardiac on Campus is a UW-Madison student org that was founded in 2016 after student Brittany Derynda’s 20-year-old brother passed away from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) following a half marathon. The organization attempts to shed light on SCA prevention and cardiac health as a whole. For 90% of its victims, SCA is fatal. Increasing bystander CPR and AED knowledge is our best solution for lowering this grim statistic. Help Cardiac on Campus raise awareness about SCA and funds to put on free CPR and AED certification classes! Thanks for your time and support!

How a virtual run/walk works:

1) Register for the virtual 5K (3.1 miles) by October 3rd.

2) Donate and join a team like you would for an in-person event.

3) Run/walk 5 kilometres any time between September 27th and October 3rd by yourself, with family/friends or with your team. Don't forget to time yourself!

4) Submit your race results here.

5) Share your photos/video from your race and tag us on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to print off the bib you receive at registration to complete the look! Don't forget to use the hashtag #RedTutuTrot2020
