Make-A-Wish Wishmakers on Campus - Shepherd University supported by DL Properties, LLC
Wishmakers on Campus® is a program to benefit Make-A-Wish® in which college students raise money for local children who need more hope and happiness in their lives. Students rally together to plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns to help a wish come true. The Shepherd University Make-A-Wish child for the 2023-2024 year is Gerald “GW” Everhart. When he was two years old, GW was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a type of blood and bone marrow. Cynthia said the first sign of the illness was what appeared to be an injured ankle. After several doctor visits where she was told nothing was wrong, a pediatrician noticed GW’s lymph nodes were swollen and ordered blood testing. That resulted in a trip to Morgantown, West Virginia, where GW was diagnosed. He is excited about taking the train to Disney World in early to meet Mickey Mouse and Woody from the movie “Toy Story for his wish!
