Festival of Miles began in 2008 as a way to raise money for an athlete in need. This foundational pillar has remained an important part of Festival of Miles Foundation's mission and event through the years. Every single dollar from ticket sales goes to a beneficiary. Please consider making an additional donation to help these two young track athletes.
In 2026, Festival of Miles Foundation will be supporting two Athletes in Need, one of whom is Maeve Long. Maeve is an 8th grader who runs track for Missouri Elite specializing in the 400m and 800m. She also plays basketball and soccer. Maeve attends Fox Middle School and will be attending Lutheran South next year. In November, doctors found a rare cancerous tumor in Maeve’s neck. She is currently going through chemotherapy and managing the difficult side effects with an incredibly positive attitude. The running community and Festival of Miles fans are ready to rally around Maeve!
Our other Athlete in Need is Quincy Rainey. Quincy is a Junior at Rockwood Summit High School where he is a valued member of the track and field team as a triple jumper, high jumper, sprinter and also plays varsity football. This winter, Quincy was unexpectedly diagnosed with Left Ventricular Non Compaction, a rare Cardiomyopathy. Further complications necessitated open heart surgery in February to place a LVAD in Quincy’s heart. Quincy will continue to undergo testing with the goal of being placed on the heart transplant list. Festival of Miles Foundation knows the running community has a big heart and is ready to support Quincy’s heart journey.
