About Us

Peace for Pits is a 501(C), Chicago area based rescue that focuses on finding loving, caring homes for “bully” breeds in need of help. Many of these dogs come from facilities across the Midwest, arriving there as a stray or unfathomably being surrendered by there so called “owners”. Some of these dogs arrive with severe injuries and other health problems due to neglect and or trauma. Our mission is to save as many of these dogs from euthanasia as possible. We are a 100% volunteer run organization, with every dog living in a wonderful foster home in the Chicagoland/N.W. Indiana areas from the day they become a part of our rescue until the day they get adopted into an amazing forever home. The average cost associated in putting a dog in a foster home is $600.00 which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and training equipment (harness, collar, leash, crate etc.). We do all of this to make sure each dog lives a life of PEACE.
