As a staff member at SCMHC, I get to see every day how what we do matters. How people who are struggling with problems (like depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, addiction, and economic hardship) find healing, support, and hope to improve their lives.
I believe everyone deserves mental health care, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Heck, our community deserves this as well, because healthy people are a necessary ingredient for healthy communities. SCMHC provides mental health care at no cost to people without insurance or the means to access affordable care. We can do this thanks to the amazing clinicians who volunteer their time and expertise to those who consult us and thanks to the generous support of donors.
