I am taking the Step Up For Moms: 40,000 Step Challenge to benefit the AFE Foundation, a cause that is important to me personally. I'm excited to take on this challenge. For the first 10 days of April, each step I take will be in remembrance of our sweet Ali by raising awareness for AFE, Amniotic Fluid Embolisms.
What is the AFE Foundation?
The Amniotic Fluid Embolism Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established in 2008 to reduce maternal and infant mortality attributed to amniotic fluid embolism while helping those impacted navigate paths forward. Learn more at www.afesupport.org.
What is AFE?
Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE) is a sudden and unexpected life-threatening birth complication that can affect both mother and baby. It affects 1 in every 40,000 births and is often fatal.
