Hello , I am Anika! I am supporting an organization named ACEing Autism , a nonprofit organization (501c3) that provides weekly tennis lessons to autistic children and adults. I have grown up playing Tennis and have always been passionate about helping kids with Autism and ACEing Autism is a great organization that gives people like me an opportunity to volunteer and help the kids grow through social connections and motor skills using Tennis. This fundraiser can make a huge impact on our ability to help more autistic children. I will be participating in a Tennis tournament during this event and raising funds for this organization. ACEing Autism Dallas, is the nation’s largest tennis program for autistic individuals. Each student works one-on-one with 1-2 volunteer instructors. The program leverages the game of tennis to improve gross and small motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communications, social skills, and self-esteem. The program also provides students an opportunity to compete in tennis tournaments including the Texas State Special Olympics.
Currently serving almost 100 students weekly, the program is steadily growing. Despite efforts to keep tuition low, many of the families simply cannot afford it. The average financial burden of treatment for autism runs $40,000 to $80,000 per year, leaving little money for much else. Help us raise funds to support the ACEing Autism local scholarship fund, provide tennis equipment to students, and enable their athletes to participate in various tennis events.
