I run 5K's throughout the year and nearly all want runners to raise money. I usually donate something myself, but don’t want to bother people throughout the year asking for donations for various causes. Last year I ran my first Tunnel to Towers 5k in Boston. After researching the cause and the charity itself, I decided to solicit my first and only donation to date and the Framingham Police Association generously supported me.
The Tunnels to Towers Foundation was formed from the tragedy of 9/11. It carries out its mission to “do good,” by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Tunnel to Towers is also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001. Tunnels to Towers spends 93% of all money it brings in toward fulfilling its mission.
This year I have decided to run (2) Tunnel to Towers 5K's in the next 5 weeks (Portland Maine and Boston) in hopes of raising more money for this great cause. This charity fulfills a mission that is tremendously meaningful to me. I would be incredibly grateful for your support!
