Hey everyone! As most of you know I donated a kidney just about 5 months ago now. Honestly gonna be one of the coolest things I'll ever do. This is a pretty close second, trying to raise money and support bad ass charities like the Chris Klug Foundation (chrisklugfoundation.org/)! They help inspire and educate and register adults to be an organ donor. In a few weeks there'll be a 5k at Coffee Creek so sign up to run or walk it please! Donate to my fundraiser link here if you can and help encourage me to lose my post surgery belly by prepping a little for the 5k lol.
Thank you for checking out my fundraising page! On September 20th I will race in the first CKF's 5K for Life in honor of organ, eye, and tissue donation. Currently in the United States over 100,000 adults and children are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant and even more are in need of a tissue transplant. This is a cause close to my heart (and kidney) and I am excited to support the Chris Klug Foundation and their mission to register individuals as organ donors. My goal is to raise $250for the foundation, please consider donating and supporting my mission! For every $1 I raise CKF will reach 2 individuals across the country with their lifesaving mission.
The Chris Klug Foundation (CKF) was established in October 2003 by Olympic Bronze Medalist and liver transplant recipient, Chris Klug.
Chris was 21 years old when he discovered he needed a transplant. He then spent 6 years on the transplant waitlist before receiving his transplant. Just 18 months later, he won a Bronze Medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.
Chris started CKF to promote lifesaving organ, eye, and tissue donation, and work to improve the quality of life for those touched by transplantation. CKF uses the stories of organ donors, transplant candidates, and transplant recipients to inspire, alongside events, school courses, and podcasts to educate. All with the end goal of encouraging individuals to give the gift of life and register as organ donors.
