Dear Family and Friends,
This year, I'm honored to be participating as a Children's Champion in support of Nationwide Children's Hospital at the Columbus Half Marathon.
This cause is personal to me.
My wife has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a rare genetic disorder that causes extremely fragile bones. She's broken more than 50 bones throughout her life, but she's also one of the toughest people I know.
Watching everything she's overcome is a big part of why I decided to run my first half marathon last year, and I decided to do it again!
If you met me a few years ago, you probably wouldn't have called me a runner. Honestly, most days I still don't. Training for this race has given me a new appreciation for what people can accomplish when they refuse to quit. Compared to what my wife, and so many kids at Nationwide Children's, have gone through, running 13.1 miles is a challenge I'm proud to take on.
My wife has always been an advocate for the OI community. She even swam 20 miles across Lake Erie, from Walnut Beach in Ashtabula to just south of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. It took her 12½ hours to finish. That determination inspires me every day.
My goal is to raise $2,000 to support Nationwide Children's Hospital and its Orthopedics Program, helping advance research, treatment, and care for children living with conditions like OI. Nationwide Children's treats patients from all 50 states and more than 60 countries, making a difference for families every single day.
If you're able to donate, I'd truly appreciate your support. If not, sharing this page or cheering me on is just as meaningful.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
