I am on the race committee for Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma, and I volunteer my time working with corporate donors to increase our impact on sarcoma research (a lot of which happens right here in Pittsburgh, Pa). We are so lucky to have physicians and researchers across all the major hospital systems in our region working tirelessly to find a cure for this rare and often deadly disease. I do believe that in addition to the unwavering will to survive that my mom Cheryl had every single step of the way (through chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries) that the doctors who oversaw her care and the treatment options they sought are why she is still with us today. We've had 20 years to celebrate family weddings, 6 grandchildren, great nieces/nephews births, countless holidays and birthdays and so much more. We can't imagine what life would be like without her here, and truly believe that every day is a gift which is why we work so hard to raise funds for Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma. We want everyone faced with a diagnosis of sarcoma to be able to survive. I humbly thank you for your generous support in honor of my amazing mom Cheryl. Know that every dollar raised this year will make a difference.
