Please help me support the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation by making a donation through my fundraising page for the 2025 Run for the Rose 5K & Family 1K. Even a small donation will help me achieve my goal! The process is fast, easy, and secure. Together, we can make a difference and help find a cure for brain cancer!
Thanks so much for your support! Feel free to check back on my fundraising progress as I attempt to reach my goal!
My sister Roberta "Birdie" Fischer was diagnosed December 1, 2023 with stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer right after her 67th birthday. She passed away May 1, 2024. We were all shocked at her passing at a relatively "young age" since our dad Jim Fischer lived to be 100. She and her husband Gene Hair (20 years older) expected her to outlive Gene and to oversee the care of their autistic son Benjamin for many years more. That plan has changed drastically. Their daughter Rachael has moved in with Gene and Ben and they moved from Lucas, Texas, to the Houston area to be closer to family that can help them. Roberta's death has affected my perception of my time remaining and how do I want to live my remaining years.
I miss my little sister.
