The Annual Cave Creek Cactus Classic (C4) is an Arizona favorite!
Join the Desert Foothills Mountain Bike Association (DFMBA) and 300+ of your best riding friends this fall! With a Gun Shot Start and Sheriff’s Posse escort through Cave Creek to the start of single track fun – you’ll have an experience like no other!
The course covers over 25 miles through Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, Cave Creek Regional Park, and even part of the Maricopa Trail! The course includes a mix of technical sections, rocky ascents, and thrilling descents. Demanding both skill and endurance from participants. From the exhilarating singletrack sections to the challenging climbs and fast-paced descents, every part of the course is designed to test the riders’ abilities and keep their adrenaline pumping. The Flume Trail exit onto New River Rd sets the stage for a thrilling finish that promises to be a spectacle for spectators. Friends, family, and fellow enthusiasts can cheer on the racers as they give it their all in a sprint finish, leaving nothing behind on the trail. Finally winding your way back to the Finish Line right in the Town of Cave Creek!
DFMBA will host event festivities, special vendors, and awards at Race Headquarters – Local Jonny’s Tavern & Cafe. The Town of Cave Creek is just north of Phoenix and is home to unique restaurants, shopping, and live music venues! Fun for family, spectators, friends, and participants!

AWARDS
The first three (3) female and male riders across the finish line, whatever age group, will receive sponsored prizes. In addition, the top three (3) riders in each age group receive awards. The top three (3) female and male overall finishers are NOT included in the age group awards.

What type of bike and equipment? Any mountain bike is welcome (We do not have a class for, nor do we allow E-bikes to enter any category).
Can I preride the course? Yes, the course is open to pre-ride during Maricopa Park hrs.
How do I prepare for a mountain bike race? Preparing for a mountain bike race involves strategic training that builds endurance, strength, and technical skills. We recommend training for at least six months prior to the event to ensure maximum performance and injury prevention. Before starting any training program, consult with a coach or experienced rider to determine your fitness level and specific training needs. Incorporate cross-training activities such as running, swimming, or yoga to improve overall fitness and prevent overuse injuries. It is crucial to listen to your body and adjust your training as needed. Overtraining can lead to exhaustion and injury, while inadequate training can result in poor race performance.
Pets
For the safety of all riders, no pets are allowed on-course at the race. Any pets at the race must be on a leash at all times, respect park rules, and be supervised.
