Walk for Paws

Kitty Corner is CCHS' popular on-site, free roam space where potential adopters can spend time with cats available for adoption in a relaxed, living room-like environment and find the cat that best suits their lifestyle.

The cats living in Kitty Corner, anywhere from 12-14, get to free roam at all times, lounging in the sun and sprawling out on comfy beds, cat towers, chairs and perches.

Kitty Corner is also home to our "nursery" for those kittens in the care of CCHS and are also ready for their furever home. The nursery can be home to up to 6-8 kittens at a time that are approximately 10-12 weeks old.

At Kitty Corner, we work to maximize space to meet the needs of as many cats as possible. That includes special-needs scenarios where we might have a cat or two that would benefit from individualized support in a room of their own (with amenities like a cat tree and maybe a couch) where they may receive a special diet, have space to recover from illness or injury, or if a cat prefers its own company.

This special place is maintained by a committed group of volunteers that staff 21 two-hour shifts per week to feed and socialize with the resident cats (plus litter box scooping and other incidentals, of course). Our loyal volunteers know our resident cat needs' inside and out, and work hard to support the most nervous cats and find what makes them comfortable, thriving house panthers.
