The 2020 census showed an area population of roughly 73,419 children aged 15 and under currently living in our 8-county ministry area (this is enough to fill downtown Evansville’s Ford Center to full capacity well over 6 times). Many of these children attend one of the 71 local public elementary schools in this region, 10 of which currently have active Good News Clubs meeting inside the school buildings. Others are waiting to hear the Gospel this summer through 5-Day Clubs hosted by nearby churches and individuals in their own neighborhoods, parks, and other community spaces. With upwards of an estimated 80% (or more) of children in the USA never attending church or having any kind of Godly spiritual influence based on the truth of God’s Word, these ministries may truly be the only chance many children in our area ever have to hear and receive the Gospel. We must reach them while they can listen!
While we rejoice in the recent God-given ministry growth since the pandemic, our mission must remain the same as that of Jesus Himself: “that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). We are asking God to use His ministry through Child Evangelism Fellowship in the Greater Evansville Area to give all local children an opportunity to hear the Gospel. How will you do your part?
Go the extra mile today to give, pray, serve, or run, so that one more child can hear the Good News!
