Welcome!
The Harry Chapin Memorial Run Against Hunger has been raising awareness and funds to fight hunger since 1981, the year Harry Chapin died in a car accident at age 38. Harry was amazing! You might remember his songs "Cat's in the Cradle," "Taxi," "W*O*L*D," and "Circle," to name a few. Did you know he raised and gave away more than $5 million in his short lifetime? Nearly every other concert he performed was a benefit. His goal was to end hunger during his lifetime, and he led by example. Imagine that!
As an all-volunteer run organization, we humbly follow in Harry's footsteps, and your donation helps us to help our friends and neighbors through the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry, Croton Caring Committee, Caring for the Hungry & Homeless of Peeskill, Hillside Food Outreach in Pleasantville, Feeding Westchester, WhyHunger (co-founded by Harry Chapin), and internationally through the Carolyn Belshe Orphanage in Mozambique and Institut Montfort School for Deaf and Deaf-Blind Children in Haiti.
Your donation is greatly appreciated and since we're a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law! If your company matches your donation, please let us know how we can help to secure those matching dollars!
If you're a runner or walker participating in our event, we have automatically created a fundraising page for you so you can encourage friends and family to support the cause! If you have any questions, please call Mike Grayeb, our Race Director, at 914-419-8719 or send him an email at mike@runagainsthunger.com
As Harry Chapin often said, "When in doubt, do something!" Thank you again for your generous support!
