On April 25, 2026 I will be participating in the 7th Annual Walk and Roll for CHARGE.
CHARGE syndrome is the leading genetic cause of deaf-blindness. Many individuals with CHARGE syndrome overcome insurmountable challenges to far surpass expectations.
As you all know Parker was diagnosed with Charge Syndrome when he was in the NICU at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital in Manhattan. He has had more surgeries/procedures and hospitalizations than I would like to recall. He has been such a trooper and so steadfast in facing things head-on. His ability to see the positive in anything, and always want people to be happy and make everyone smile is such a gift. He embodies and exudes unconditional love.
If it weren't for the entities like the Charge Syndrome Foundation providing critical programs, outreach, and scholarships for families, our family would be lost. Being able to position ourselves to continue this annual fundraiser, bring NY families together throughout the state and have pockets of families meet up just for this event is essential. Peer to peer connections is so valued and needed on this journey. We meet the needs of families where they are, we give hugs, a listening ear, a few laughs (and maybe tears), and share our lived experience.
All funds raised will help support individuals with CHARGE and their families through direct assistance, research, and outreach.
