On September 28, my mom and I will be running in the Tunnel to Towers race in memory of our cousin, Eddie Doyle, who was a dedicated FDNY Firefighter assigned to 82 Engine in the South Bronx. I would be so appreciative if you might consider supporting this important cause with a donation.
At the time of the 911 terrorist attacks on our country, Eddie was home in Huntington, Long Island, but immediately rushed into his firehouse to be with his fellow firefighters. He spent many hours, days, weeks, and months on "the pile" searching for victims and survivors. Once the efforts at Ground Zero were stopped, Eddie returned to duty serving our great city until one day his world was turned upside down. He was suffering from many ailments as a result of his time at Ground Zero and eventually the 911 Medical Staff told him he was unable to return to active duty. Ed was passionate about his job and loyal to his brothers and sisters of the FDNY.
In September 2017, Eddie passed away following his battle with 911 related illnesses. Each year our family and friends gather in his memory to support the NYC Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes and their families. . We would be so thankful if you might consider supporting our efforts to remember Ed and support America's heroes.
