Welcome to the 2022 Copper Harbor Women's Weekend Clinic!

A weekend of learning, camaraderie, and above all else, FUN!  The Copper Harbor Women's Weekend clinic brings together fantastic coaches and eager riders for one of the premier women's clinics in the Midwest.  Not only do you get to ride the awesome trails in and around Copper Harbor, you get to do so with some seriously high-powered professional coaching talent. Lead coach Lindsey Richter of the Liv Ladies Allride MTB Clinic Series will once again be joining us in 2022 to show us how it's done in a women-focused learning environment.  No jocks, hotshots, show-offs, or mansplainers here!  Just women teaching women how it's done, one incredible weekend at a time.

The Copper Harbor Women's Weekend clinic is open to women of all shapes, sizes, colors, faith, background, orientation, age (over 18), or skill level. If you identify yourself as a woman mountain bike rider, this clinic is for you!  From those just getting started in the sport to folks who have been riding for years and need to work on a particular technique, our coaches will help take your riding to the next level.  Participants will be assigned coaches depending on their skill level and interests.  Some groups will focus on the basics to ensure you can get up and down the trail safely and efficiently, while others will take on tougher obstacles that only Copper Harbor can offer.  Throughout the weekend, everyone will get confidence building how-to's from coaches who have been in your shoes and experienced the same challenges we all face on the trail.  Later in the weekend you'll have the chance to choose a special ride to focus on, including tackling the expert-level Red Trail or going for a scenic ride out on the Keweenaw Point Trail.

Shuttle Info

Due to capacity restrictions, there will be no Keweenaw Adventure Company shuttles again this year. They no longer use 15-passenger vans and are unable to transport our groups efficiently up the hill. Each group would require two shuttles, and with over a dozen groups there's no way we could make it work (let alone leaving space for KAC's regular customers!). Don't worry, riding uphill can be fun and informative too, and your coaches will stop frequently to teach along the way.

Bike Gear

What kind of bike should you bring? The bike you're most comfortable with! Just about any decent bike with front suspension from the past several years will be more than enough to take on the vast majority of the Copper Harbor trails. Your hardtail will do just fine for most activities.  Full suspension bikes are a bonus but not required - don't feel like you have to upgrade to attend. Helmets are a must!  Pads are optional but never hurt if you've got 'em.  If you are deciding on pedals, go flat as this will help advance your skills faster.

Watch the weather and be prepared: we ride rain or shine. The Copper Harbor Trails don't shut down when it rains and neither will we. A little mud never hurt anyone!  You may also want to bring your yoga mat as Johanna Davis from Spirit of the North Wellness will be leading a morning session or two for us.

Our home base for the weekend will be Grant Township Park in "downtown" Copper Harbor, immediately adjacent to the main trailhead. Morning and evening activities will take place outside in the park.  We will also be heading over to Trails End Campground for skills and drills on their built features.

Refund Policy

If you must back out of the clinic, you'll be charged a flat $50 processing fee.  You will then receive a refund based on the following schedule:
•100% of the remaining balance if 45 or more days before the clinic
•70% of the remaining balance if between 45 and 30 days before the clinic
•50% of the remaining balance if between 30 and 15 days before the clinic
•NO Refund within 14 days of the clinic.  Cutting it too close!

As usual, transfers to friends or family members are free.  Find a replacement and get a full refund.

As we continue to grow the clinic and make it as accessible as possible for all women, we recognize that some may not be able to afford the full cost of the event. With this in mind, we have decided to offer up to two scholarships for the 2022 Women's Weekend Clinic.  The scholarship will cover half of the clinic fee (a $197.50 value).  We wanted to make this scholarship application as simple as possible this year.  It's been a crazy time recently as we all know, and not everyone has the budget to make the event work.  However, that shouldn't stop them from learning how to be a better mountain biker and advocate for non-motorized trails.   If you or someone you know would benefit from this scholarship and clinic, we encourage you to apply using our online form.  Please complete your submission by March 15th.  We will review and make our decisions by early-April.  Note that regular registration for the event opens March 1st at 7:00 PM Eastern time and the scholarship is not retroactive if you register the normal way. You will still be eligible to receive the scholarship if you are on the waitlist.
