Story

For me, cycling isn’t just about the miles—it’s about pushing limits, breaking barriers, and proving what’s possible for those living with a bleeding disorder. As someone who has battled severe hemophilia, contracted HIV and hepatitis C from tainted blood products, and defied every expectation set before me, I refuse to let my condition define me. Instead, I ride to inspire, empower, and advocate for those facing similar challenges.

This year, my 756-mile ride alongside the Appalachian Trail is deeply personal. I’m riding in memory of Barry Haarde, my close friend who rode across America six times to raise awareness for those with bleeding disorders. Barry showed the world that nothing—not even hemophilia—could stop him. Now, I carry that torch.  I am also riding in honor of my daughter, Trinity, who we lost to a fentanyl overdose on December 13, 2023. Her strength, spirit, and love for life push me forward every day.

Beyond personal reasons, I do this to motivate the younger generation—to show them that no matter what obstacles stand in their way, they can achieve extraordinary things. If my journey inspires just one person to chase their dreams, push past their limits, or believe in themselves, then every grueling mile is worth it.

I need your support to make this ride count. Your donation goes directly toward helping people living with bleeding disorders worldwide—providing them with the care, resources, and opportunities they deserve.

Join me in this mission. Every dollar, every share, every word of encouragement fuels this ride and helps change lives.

Donate today and be part of something bigger. Together, we ride for hope, strength, and a better future.
