Cruz Clinic is honored to come together in support of ovarian cancer awareness for someone who means the world to us—Gerri Yarmak. She is our administrator, a courageous ovarian cancer survivor, and most importantly, our forever friend.
In August 2025, Gerri was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4A ovarian cancer. In the face of so much uncertainty, she chose to meet it with extraordinary strength. From that very first moment, Gerri showed us what true courage looks like. She faced every appointment, surgery, and treatment with grace, determination, and an unwavering spirit.
Through it all, she reminded us what it means to “just keep swimming.” Even on the hardest days, she moved forward with resilience and hope. Her journey has not only made her a survivor but also a powerful voice and advocate for ovarian cancer awareness.
Today, we are not only grateful to celebrate Gerri as a survivor, but also for the light, strength, and love she continues to share with us all. Your support honors Gerri’s journey and helps bring hope to so many others. Thank you for standing with us and joining our fundraising efforts.
The funds we raise will support the incredible work of the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving survivors and their families. MIOCA provides vital information, compassionate support, and essential resources, while also advocating for increased research and better access to care. Through education and awareness, they work tirelessly to help women and healthcare professionals recognize ovarian cancer symptoms earlier.
