Thank you so much for choosing to support our race for Eden II Programs. Larry, Olivia and I are using our miles and our voices for something AMAZING - providing the maximum help possible to the autism community through education, adult day programs, residential care, family support, respite, and a number of other services.
Established in 1976, Eden II Programs began with just six students and one special education teacher. Today, the not-for-profit organization serves over 500 participants in New York City and Long Island.
Our family is so very grateful that Christian was one of the students they worked with. He had attended the behavior clinic. Our son was going through a very hard time, engaging in alot of significant problem behaviors. Christian's team at the clinic embraced him when he first started. Each week, Christian became more comfortable with the team and the setting. They worked very hard to teach him that a school setting is a great place to be. Though he was still engaging in challenging behaviors, he was also becoming our old Christian. He started to laugh more, dance more, hug more and started to ask to go to school again. They gave us back those aspects of Christian, and for that we are eternally grateful.
A few months ago, our family was in crisis. Becuase of medication side effects, Christian's behavior became more severe than before. That period of time was completely awful for my daughter, husband and I. I dont think we would have had a positive outcome if it wasnt for the staff at the clinic, the assistants, teachers, BCBAs, and supervisors, They all played a part in helping our family during our darkest hours.
The people who work in this program are the most caring, professional, supportive and dedicated people we have met. This program is truly dedicated to bettering the lives of individuals with Autism and their families. Please consider supporting this program!
ANY amount you are able to give brings us all closer to our goal. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
