I am writing to you for help in raising funds for Neuro-Fit, which is a very worthy program operating in Lexington, Beverly and Marblehead, MA that helps people with brain injury and other neurological disorders receive neuro-informed exercise training to maximize functionality and overall well-being.
My own connection to Neuro-Fit began in January of this year when a good friend and neighbor suggested I explore it as a resource for my own health journey. As you know, I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and as such deal with myriad physical and cognitive symptoms including physical pain, decreased energy, spasticity, stiffness, balance, memory and cognitive limitations. I have been working hard over the last couple of years to minimize the symptoms of MS and maximize my functionality by treating my rehabilitation as a full-time job using physical therapy, occupational therapy, acupuncture, meditation, Reiki and most recently, neuro-informed exercise at Neuro-Fit. I have seen my balance and flexibility improve over the last several months, which I attribute at least in part to my work at Neuro-Fit.
My Neuro-Fit experience has focused on working with staff who challenge me to push myself in healthy ways. While at Neuro-Fit Lexington, I also get to interact with student interns from local colleges who spend a semester working with clients. It is worth noting that many Neuro-Fit clients are low-income and receive scholarships to receive such important help. Because such scholarships are dependent on unrestricted funds raised, I am walking in the upcoming TEAM SLI walk on November 1st and would appreciate you supporting my effort by donating.
