Dave's Running Shop challenges you to track how many running or walking miles you can accumulate from 12:00AM January 1st through 11:59PM December 31st 2021. You can set a goal of any distance, or go for the mega challenge of 2,021 miles. Whatever you are able to accomplish in over the 365 days is worthy of recognition, which is why Dave's Running Shop is encouraging the entire community to get their bodies moving with a FREE entry-level option for this year long challenge.
The clock starts on January 1st, so get signed up to make the most of your time.
Dave's Running Shop has setup a private Strava club for this challenge, where all your miles will be tracked through your device. So no need to manually enter your mileage each day, unless you would like to include them in the event's public online results. If you don't have a Strava account, you can create a free one to use for the yearly challenge. Many GPS devices and other tracking services (e.g. Garmin) offer an automatic sync with Strava option as well. You'll need to find and enable it in your individual account for that device/service, but once you do, you'll just need to sync your workouts as you usually do.
* Participants can register at any time during the year, but the later you sign up, the less time you have to rack up the miles.
This is the entry level challenge. You'll be part of the group for the entire year and have access to the following perks at this level:
You will be along for the ride but will need to track your own miles. If you want a commemorative water bottle and "badges" for your achievements, then you will want to jump into the Mileage Monster level.
This is the "check me out" level for those runners who want to strut around with their achievements at work, home, or local Dave's races. You will have access to the following perks at this level:
You can strut into work with your water bottle covered in mileage badges for proof that you do other activities outside the workplace. Some runners out there are up for more than just a mileage challenge, and those runners will want to level up to a Mileage Maniac level.
At this level, there is a good chance that friends and family won't even know you have a water bottle. All they will see is you walking around and holding a cylinder of badges from all the mileage and challenges achieved throughout the year. You will have access to the following perks at this level:
