The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies. The Red Cross has provided compassionate care to survivors for over 50 years. Today, the Home Fire Campaign encompasses the work of the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from home fires. These efforts are made possible through our partnerships with local fire departments and community organizations, as well as through the generous philanthropic support of corporations, foundations and individuals. To date, through the Home Fire Campaign, the Red Cross has made over one million households safer and saved over 2,000 lives by installing more than 2.5 million free smoke alarms nationwide. Your sponsorship of my run in the Glass City Marathon will help support the efforts of the Western Lake Erie Chapter of the American Red Cross to install free smoke alarms in communities across Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Monroe (MI), Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood Counties and reduce injuries and loss related to home fires. YOU can make the difference!
