I’m incredibly grateful and proud to run the 2022 NYC Marathon in support of Hope for the Warriors, a wonderful organization that does vital work for post-9/11 service members, veterans, and their families. HOPE helps those that have given so much for us and our country and connects them to the services they need including, financial, physical, and emotional wellness, social support, and connection to the community. HOPE also operates a brick-and-mortar mental health facility in Jacksonville, NC.
It was an honor to have been selected by HOPE to join their 2022 NYC marathon team. I’m running the marathon in honor of my grandfather, William Eckman, who was a pilot in World War 2, after completing his service to his country, he returned to our small town in Ohio and raised funds to build the first American Legion in the area. I’m incredibly proud of his service to our country and even more proud of what he was able to do for fellow veterans upon returning.
