The Don Scott Trot: 5K on the Runway is a signature event at The Ohio State University Airport. Participants enjoy the annual opportunity to be on grounds typically reserved for aircraft.
This special event fosters awareness, unity, and community pride in the airport. In 2023 the 5K will be held on August 26th at 8 a.m. Free parking will be on-site at the airport.
This year we will be specially commemorating the 80th year of our airfield being named Don Scott Field. In 1943 the airfield was named in honor of the former Ohio State athlete, who died in a bomber crash in England during World War II. Read more about Don Scott and our history by clicking here.
There is ample parking in the airport lots. Enter the airport grounds off of West Case Rd, just east of Sawmill Rd.
Race packets and shirts may be picked up early at Columbus Running Company's Dublin location only on Thursday, August 24 (10AM-8PM) and Friday, August 25 (10AM-8PM). You may also pick up your packets at the race beginning at 7:00 am on August 26. All race day activities will be based out of Hangar 7. There will be plenty of signage at the airport on race day to direct you where to go.

Ohio State’s premier Flight Education program prepares students to become high-achieving pilots across the aviation industry. However, the fees associated with flight courses can prevent some students from reaching their full career potential. Funds collected will provide scholarship support for students training to receive their pilot certificates from the introductory to advanced levels.
By supporting the university’s Flight Education program, Ohio State Airport aims to give wings to the next generation of aviation professionals. Learn more about the program online at fly.osu.edu
