My youngest child, Elise, passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2012. Her cause of death was listed as, "unknown", although we suspect she had a seizure in her sleep. The SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood) Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families affected by the sudden, unexplained death of a child over the age of 1. It provides resources, advocacy, and a supportive community to those grieving this devastating loss. Additionally, the foundation funds and promotes research aimed at understanding the causes of SUDC, with the ultimate goal of preventing these tragedies. Elise's brain was donated for this cause.
