WE ARE BACK & BETTER THAN EVER!!!! Join us in our first in-person 5k at Annual Conference since 2019. Run around beautiful Lake Junaluska and support an amazing cause! This year our event is hosted by the Candler Club and alumni from Duke Divinity!
Every year the proceeds from the 5K are split between seminary scholarships for students from WNCC and a mission partner at work in our United Methodist Connection. This year our partner is the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief – UMCOR – assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need. UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
Don't want to run? That's OK! You can walk, stroll, skip, or meander your way through whatever course you have. If you don't want to race, we still encourage you to donate to our partners this year, click the "DONATE" button at the top of the page and visit our Facebook page to learn more.
Run or walk and have fun with your friends and family!
