After about a 25-year hiatus, I rediscovered serious swimming during the pandemic via the Casco Bay YMCA. I'm so grateful that the pool was available then and since, and now I truly can't imagine work and life without a 6am workout to start the day.
Almost as soon as I started swimming again, I longed to do the Peaks to Portland -- a two-mile open water swim from Peaks Island to East End Beach on the Portland mainland. This will be a huge accomplishment on many levels. I'm really grateful for the opportunity. The swim is all me, but I'm also glad for the chance to give back to the same organization who got me back in shape and part of a community I really care about now. I hope that my family and friends will support the YMCA and me by making a small donation for my swim.
Donations to my swim go directly towards my YMCA. Join me in supporting this important cause by donating today – together, we can make a splash for our future generation!
