Event Description
The first key feature of the FarFetched Invitational is uncertainty. Each year will be a different, trail running based event. We'll provide some basic parameters, but details will be sparse until the designated Event Preparation Phase. The one thing it will never be is a traditional point-to-point foot race. The basic parameters for the 2025 FarFetched Invitational are as follows:
- The event will be on the trails of Mendon Ponds Park
- The event will last an hour
Registration
The second key feature of the FarFetched Invitational is that it serves as a point of reflection and celebration of the past year of events. As such, only participants and volunteers from the past 12 months of FarFetched events will be invited to participate. For the 2025 FarFetched Invitational, this includes:
- 09/14/2024 - Ontario Summit Trail Races
- 01/04/2025 - Frozen Assets Endurance Run
- 01/18/2025 - Mrs. McCormick's Ice House
- 02/02/2025 - Devil's Shadow Winter Trail Races
- 03/08/2025 - Go Forth!
- 03/22/2025 - Trail Running Film Festival
- 06/01/2025 - The Mills Miles
Invitations will be sent via email with a unique URL that will bypass registration restrictions. Attempting to register without this link will result in the error message "Registration for this race is full." Contact the race director if you do not have a URL or otherwise have issues registering.
Registration cost is $20.00, with the RunSignup fees covered by FarFetched Enterprises.

The third key feature of the FarFetched Invitational is the post-event presentation of the Special Award. It may not necessarily go to the swiftest of foot or the keenest of eye, so everyone has a shot at taking home the prize. During the ceremony, all participants will be invited to enjoy a fine selection of food and drink at the Canfield Woods Shelter.

A: Registration is limited to those who have received an invitation email with a unique registration URL.
If you don't have this email and think you should, then contact us.
If you don't have this email, but would really like one, then contact us with complete details of the bribes you will be offering.
If you probably have this email but don't really want to dig around for it, then contact us, but be really nice about it.
Q: Can you tell me more about the event?
A: No.
Q: Should I bring my own hydration pack or bottle?
A: I don't think it will be necessary, but I'll leave the final decision up to you. I would stay clear of anything bulky because it will be important that you are as aerodynamic as possible.
Q: Aerodynamic? Should I wear one of those big helmets that time trial cyclists use?
A: Yes, yes you should.
