WE ARE ON A MISSION TO SERVE WOMEN VETERANS AND THEIR CHILDREN SO THAT THEIR NEXT MISSION IS CLEAR AND CONTINUES TO IMPACT THE WORLD. OUR PROGRAMS ENHANCE THE PERSONAL AND ECONOMIC WELLBEING OF WOMEN VETERANS AND ADDRESS THE GROWING NEEDS OF THE INCREASING POPULATION OF MILITARY WOMEN TRANSITIONING TO CIVILIAN LIFE. WE ADDRESS THE TOP FOUR NEEDS THAT WOMEN VETERANS HAVE SELF-IDENTIFIED AS CRUCIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THEIR TRANSITION: EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, AND CHILDCARE.
We understand that a major barrier to maintaining housing, receiving mental health or advancing one’s career, are the unmet basic needs such as financial stability, adequate childcare, stable employment and a support system. Additionally, women serve with so few women in the service their transition can feel solitary and lacking peer support.
WHO WE SERVE
Foundation for Women Warriors provides programs to women veterans (and their children) that have been honorably discharged from the United States Military. For financial assistance programs, veterans must currently be residents of Southern California, in good health and able to care for their personal and financial needs.
WE CREATE A STABLE FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN VETERANS:
Providing emergency stipends and basic needs assistance to cover rent, utilities, and household goods for women veterans facing economic difficulties
- Offsetting childcare costs to assist veterans with pursuing education and maintaining their employment
- Delivering women focused professional development and offering an environment for women veterans to engage and support one another
- Helping women veterans locate the resources needed to improve mental health, gain employment and/or secure or maintain housing
- Presenting access to scholarship, internship, and mentorship opportunities
