Join us for our third year walking the Seacoast Cancer 5K in memory of our mom, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Diane Flaherty. The event will take place in Portsmouth on Sunday September 15th, 2024 at the Wentworth-Douglass Portsmouth Outpatient Center. In previous years, our family has walked the 5k loop but there is opportunity to run it, participate virtually, or do the alternative 1 mile loop on site.
Our family will always express our sincere appreciation to the staff of the Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, for providing comfort and unwavering care during Diane's treatment; with special thanks to Dr. Henry Sonneborn, Caroline Kamau, APRN, all the outstanding nurses on the 2nd floor Infusion Room and in Inpatient care, the Integrative Therapy team, and to Dr. Agata Marszalek and the wonderful staff in Palliative care. Diane was a fighter, she navigated the challenge of pancreatic cancer with bravery, grace, and a positive attitude.
The Seacoast community comes together for a celebration of life in support of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Seacoast Cancer Center. You choose how to participate – fundraise, volunteer, walk/run virtually or in person! No matter how your participate, this event will be a positive experience from beginning to end as the Seacoast Cancer 5K brings together thousands of neighbors, friends, and family in the fight against cancer. The best part of all, every dollar raised supports cancer care right here in our community, allowing patients to live their lives to the fullest during cancer treatment and through survivorship.
