We adopted Lovely from Lollypop Farms in Rochester on August 17th, 2025. Having Lovely was the most special experience. Our life with her was so much more perfect than we could have ever expected, despite always knowing we loved dogs and wanted to adopt our own. A typical day with Lovely included four walks, a trip to the park to play fetch, relaxing at a local coffee shop and having a pup cup, and ended with us cuddling in bed watching TV. She was equally playful, silly, cuddly, and loving. She taught us so much about raising and caring for a pet, and we are so lucky to have found her at Lollypop. Although we wish we had more time with her, knowing we gave her an amazing life brings us peace, and we are so grateful we were able to know and love her for the short time we had.
Lovely was my running buddy. She was extremely fast and had a lot of energy, but always made sure to match my pace. We did a 5k together in October, and had fun celebrating afterwards with drinks (water for her!) at a dog friendly bar. She enjoyed meeting everyone who participated and being showered in affection and treats. We are doing this 10k in her honor, because she loved running, and to raise money for another amazing Rochester shelter, Verona Street Animal Services! The money raised will go towards providing food, shelter, enrichment and medical care at the shelter, promoting adoption, lost and found, and spay/neuter programs, and supporting under-served communities by providing access to pet resources.
